Rutgers Equine Science Center presents “Blood Lactate Guided Training in Equine Athletes”

New Brunswick, NJ — The Rutgers University Equine Science Center is pleased to present guest speaker Dr. Arno Lindner on Thursday, Dec. 9, at Bartlett Hall, Room 123, on the G. H. Cook Campus in New Brunswick, N.J.

Dr. Lindner’s lecture, titled “Blood Lactate Guided Training in Equine Athletes,” will present the use of blood lactate measurements during standardized equine exercise tests to guide adequate training programs for equine athletes.

“The Equine Science Center is recognized locally and globally for excellence in equine science, especially as it pertains to exercise physiology and nutrition for horses of all ages, breeds, and disciplines,” said Karyn Malinowski, director of the Center. “Dr. Arno Lindner is sure to be a crowd pleaser with his vast knowledge about the changes occurring in plasma lactate concentrations during intensive exercise in horses presented in a witty style unique to Dr. Lindner.”

According to Malinowski, Dr. Lindner’s lecture will be of particular importance for owners and trainers of high-performance horses. The presentation will begin at 7 p.m. and is open to the public. There is no registration fee for the lecture.
