Salive back to Kawartha Downs Saturday

from Kawartha Downs

Fraserville, ON — Kawartha Downs’ race fans will have their last opportunity to hear legendary announcer Frank Salive this Saturday night (July 23).

This will be the third time Salive has graced the Fraserville oval’s announcer’s booth as the track’s regular race caller Evan Loucks takes some summer holidays.

“I really enjoy coming to Kawartha,” Salive noted on his first trip to the five-eighths-mile track this year. “It’s always a great atmosphere, wonderful fans and horse people and it’s heartening to see the crowds that come out. Peterborough has always had a soft spot in my heart because of my years of playing for the Petes.”

Salive, the long time announcer on the Woodbine Entertainment Group’s circuit, is often called the voice of Canadian harness racing. He retired a few years back and now spends his winters in Florida and comes home to Ontario during the summer. This year he’s the regular announcer at Fort Erie Racetrack.

Post time at Kawartha Downs Saturday night is 7 p.m.
