Truro, NS — This coming Sunday afternoon at Truro Raceway in Nova Scotia will feature a $1,450 main event as part as their 14 dash program of live racing.

Sammy’s Spirit, who has been red hot as of late will be one of the favorites when the horses go to post. Sammy’s Spirit will be handled by veteran teamster Jimmy Davis. He has drawn post four in the 13th race.

Other starters in this week’s feature in order of post position are Highbrow (Robert Laffin), Trymyluck (Terry Gallant), Ashley’s Storm (Darren Crowe), Crafty Jewel (David Carey), G E Cams Freedom (Bernard McCallum), Kilkerran Thor (John McKinnon) and Ron Pick (Danny Romo).

Also, a meeting of the Maritime racetracks will take place in Amherst, Nova Scotia as a follow up to the recent “Racing into the Future” racing symposium in Truro.

Date has been set for February 9th with a full slate of topics included in the agenda.

One of the key goals to come out of these meetings were that racetracks need to work together through consolidation, co-operation and integration.

Following this meeting there will be a further release of some of the items discussed and the action plan put on a go forward basis.
