Saratoga Springs, NY — Saratoga Casino and Raceway will present players with a new, guaranteed Pick-5 wagering opportunity, beginning on Wednesday (Oct. 17).

The first of its kind in New York’s Standardbred industry, Saratoga Raceway’s Pick-5 wager will cover races six through ten on Wednesday race dates throughout the end of the 2012 season. The Pick-5 will be part of the United States Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program, designed to provide value to horseplayers by guaranteeing the size of designated betting pools. The Pick-5 will be guaranteed at $2,500.

“I’d like to thank the USTA and the New York State Racing and Wagering Board for their assistance in making the Pick-5 a reality for our state’s Standardbred industry,” said John Matarazzo, Director of Racing Operations. “Expanding on our pari-mutuel offerings is essential to the growth and success of our raceway, and New York’s racing industry as a whole.”

New York’s first Pick-5 wager will be available every Wednesday at Saratoga Casino and Raceway, and all corresponding pari-mutuel outlets nationwide. Players must select the winners of Saratoga Harness for races six through ten to win. The Pick-5 wager has a 50 cent minimum, with 100 percent of the funds carrying over if no one correctly selects the winners of all five legs. Nine horse fields will also be featured in all legs of this wager.
