Manalapan, NJ — The 2013 Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey scholarships were presented in winner’s circle ceremonies at the Meadowlands on Friday (July 26).

Backstretch Community Assistance Program Executive Director Chris Samaha, Caroline Fanning, Nicole Coyne, John McDermott and SBOANJ Director Ed Razzetti took part in the presentation.

Plaques and checks were presented to Caroline Fanning ($5,000), John McDermott ($1,500) and Nicole Coyne ($1,500).

All three honorees are from prominent New Jersey harness racing families.

Caroline Fanning, 18, is the daughter of Tom and Moira Fanning of Jackson, N.J. John McDermott, 19, is the son of John and Nancy McDermott of Lyndhurst, N.J. Nicole Coyne, 20, is the daughter of Ron and Regina Coyne of New Egypt, N.J.
