Scioto Downs stall applications are now online

Columbus, OH — Scioto Downs will kick off the 90-day, 2016 season on Tuesday (May 10) with a 2 p.m. post time. Live racing will be held every Tuesday through Saturday until Sept. 10.

Post time will still be the traditional 6:30P p.m. Wednesday through Saturday while Tuesday’s post time and all holiday cards will be 2 p.m.

Stall applications are online at www.sciotodowns.com. All trainers that would like stalls are asked to submit workers compensation waiver along with the stall applications by March 15. Stalls will be assigned by April 1.

Ohio sired 3- and 4-year-olds will have a chance to kick off the Scioto Downs season with late closer action in May and June. For more information, please visit www.sciotodowns.com.

Scioto Downs will once again host three memorial races in 2016. The Charlie Hill Memorial Trot is scheduled for Saturday (June 11) with a purse of $200,000. The Charlie Hill is for 4-year-old and up trotters and the field will feature the horses with the highest lifetime earnings that enter. One payment of $500 must be postmarked by March 15.

The Jim Ewart Memorial Pace and the Sam “Chip” Noble III Memorial Trot are slated for closing night, Sept. 10. The Ewart will be for stallions and geldings, 4-years-old and up that have the highest lifetime earnings that enter. The estimated purse for the Ewart will be $225,000. The payment will be $500 and must be postmarket by March 15.

The Noble will be for horses that are 4-years-old and up with the highest lifetime money that enter the race. The purse for the Noble will be an estimated $100,000. Payments of $250 must be postmarked by March 15.
