Scott Zeron honored by SOA of NY for his 4,000th win

Yonkers, NY — On the evening of July 22, Yonkers Raceway horsemen lauded 32-year-old Scott Zeron on the 4,000th driving victory of his still young career. The Ontario native notched the milestone win on July 14 at the Hilltop oval.

For someone in the mere adolescence of his career, Zeron’s driving resume is astonishing. In 2012, the youthful reinsman garnered a win in the Little Brown Jug with Michael’s Power. In 2013, Zeron, who now resides in Campbell Hall, N.Y., was the youngest driver to achieve the 2,000 win plateau. In 2016, he became the youngest driver to win a Triple Crown with Marion Marauder. Then in 2020, he pulled off the biggest upset in Breeders Crown history, guiding Sandbetweenmytoes to victory in the $500,000 Breeders Crown sophomore male pace final at odds of 203-1.

“The Standardbred Owners Association of New York is proud to boast the deepest drivers’ colony of any paddock in North America,” said Joe Faraldo, SOA president. “Scott Zeron is a mainstay of that colony, and we look forward to his continued presence for decades to come. Still in his early thirties, Scott has already acquitted himself as a consummate horseman and accomplished professional.”
