Scuola Hanover wins third straight at Dover

Dover, DE – Scuola Hanover scored her third consecutive victory in the Mares Open Handicap Pace at Dover Downs on Wednesday (Feb.2) night. Despite foggy weather conditions, Scuola Hanover and Shes Pukka N left
alertly for the early lead.

Driver Art Stafford Jr. waited for Shes Pukka N to clear the lead then brushed to the top at the quarter pole. Scuola Hanover set fractions of :26.4 to the quarter. The half was reached in :55 (:28.1) and the three-quarters
in 1:22.4 (:27.4).

Major Occasion A pulled first-up past the half. Mystical Carrie followed second-over and Soho Burning Love A picked up the third-over cover. Shes Pukka N remained in the pocket, as the outside flow stalled at the three-quarter pole. In deep stretch, Scuola Hanover was able to hold off the late charge of Shes Pukka N.

Scuola Hanover won by a head in 1:51. She returned $3.20 as the public’s choice in the wagering. Scuola Hanover (A Rocknroll Dance- So Artsi- Artsplace) is owned by Arthur C Stafford, Andrew J. Stafford and Thomas Ireland, all from Harrington, Delaware.

Andrew Stafford trained and she contributed to a driving four bagger for Art Stafford Jr.

Shes Pukka N finished second for trainer Brian Malone and driver Tony Morgan. Soho Burning Love A was third for trainer Jim King Jr. Tim Tetrick drove.

Tomorrow night, Bo Mach looks to win his third consecutive race in the Blue Hen Open Handicap Pace. It is scheduled for the 12th race.

Beginning on Monday (Feb. 7) Dover Downs will offer a fifty cent minimum wager on the Pick-3, Pick-4, and Pick-5.
