Second race for GLADA bubbles with strong competitors

by Patricia P. Miller, for GLADA

Hazel Park, MI — Last week’s initial Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Association race served to drive stronger competitive ambitions in the eight starters to face the gate this week.

Week two will feature seven drivers from week one — winner Steve Oldford, Christina Kennedy, Patricia Miller, Junior Cole, Richard Roach, Kelly Walker and Zaim Cunmulaj. They will be joined by Richard Wheeler, a veteran of last year’s races with his own horse Harlan Pepper.

Trotter Harlan Pepper will add additional spice and heat to the GLADA race as the second week unfolds and the trotters zip away from the gate, racing for the pride of a win and the points for the season.

Inside out, Steve Oldford will drive Lockup Jazz for trainer Gus Korbackis, Christine Kennedy takes the lines on Forest Heights for trainer Terry Deters, Patricia Miller will steer her own Hay Look Out, Junior Cole is in the sulky with his own Score Card, Richard Wheeler drives Harlan Pepper, Richard Roach steers Mylittlej, Kelly Walker holds the lines for Howmuchubench and Zaim Cunmulaj will start with his own Y F Crasher on the outside.

Forecasts in the 90s will add the heat and the hot competition will excite the trotters, drivers and fans. It’s a perfect forecast for Monday’s racing excitement at Hazel Park.
