SEP membership no longer needed to participate in pleasure horse activities

by Jessica Schroeder, U.S. Trotting Association Outreach

Columbus, OH — Effective March 1, 2011, participants in the Standardbred Equine Program will no longer need a SEP membership to participate in pleasure horse activities sponsored by the USTA.

Those interested in becoming members of the USTA because of their participation with off the track Standardbreds are encouraged to join as active members of the USTA. Additional benefits, such as submitting rule change proposals and voting for your district leadership, is afforded to all former SEP members who join the USTA as active members.

Those currently holding SEP memberships will be sent letters explaining the change in membership.

SEP programs, including projects with the United States Dressage Federation, American Road Horse & Pony Association, Lorenzo Driving Competition and Standardbred Pleasure Horse Organizations, will still be on-going. The SEP program is also expanding its presence in endurance/trail riding and competitive driving programs for 2011.

For more information about the SEP program, visit standardbreds.ustrotting.com, e-mail sep@ustrotting.com or call 877.800.8782, ex. 3212.
