Seven divisions of Stallion Series on Wednesday at Harrah’s Philadelphia

Chester, PA — There were seven divisions of Stallion Series action for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters on Wednesday afternoon (June 1) at Harrah’s Philadelphia. They were going for a purse of $20,000 each.

The fastest came in division four, when Nik Drennan trainee Iholdon (David Miller) stopped the clock in 1:55.1. The gelded son of Andover Hall went right to the top and never looked back, winning by three lengths over Pilgrims Tide (Tim Tetrick), who overcame a break to finish second. It was the fourth win of Iholdon’s career in his 11th start. The 1:55.1 clocking was a lifetime best. Iholdon is owned by Brad Shackman, Joe Davino, and the Drennan Stables.

Other Stallion Series winners were Skeezix (1:56.1), Marty De Vie (1:56.2), Dominus Hanover (1:57.3), Leggs Matter (1:57.3), Mr Right (1:57.2), and Meadowbranch Memo (1:57.1).

Skeezix (Miller) was able to sit in the pocket behind the heavy favorite Elysium Lindy (Jim Marshall III) before getting up the passing lane for the win in the first division. It was the third career win for the gelded son of SJ’s Caviar. He is owned by Michael Andrew and trained by Roland Mallar.

Marty De Vie (George Napolitano Jr.) brushed to the front at the quarter and was able to stay on nicely, winning by a length in 1:56.2 in division two. It was his fourth career win. He is owned by trainer Todd and Lynette Buter, James Marion, and the Oldford Farms.

Division three saw Lawrence Crawford’s Dominus Hanover (Napolitano) score easily. The colt by Muscle Massive quickly went to the top, making every call a winning one in 1:57.3. The Amber Buter trainee is now a nine-time winner out of 23 career starts.

Leggs Matter (Montrell Teague) came out of the clouds for his win. The colt by Explosive Matter tipped four-wide at the top of the stretch, then swept by to win by three lengths in 1:57.3. It was his third victory in five career starts. He is owned by Denise Dennis and Francis Wilson, and trained by Bobby Clark.

In the sixth division, it was Mr Right (Victor Kirby) drawing off to win. The colt by Donato Hanover was able to angle off the cones as the leader was tiring, getting clear to win by one length in 1:57.2. It was his seventh career win out of 14 starts. He is owned by Leigh Raymer, Stephen Moss, and Harold and Helane Solomon and is trained by Raymer.

The final division went to Meadowbranch Memo (Tim Tetrick). The gelded son of Explosive Matter overcame an early break to get the job done in 1:57.1. It was the fourth win out of 21 starts for the Jenny Melander trainee. He is owned by Hans Enggren.
