Shabby Chic fastest DSBF filly

Harrington, DE — Freshman pacing fillies were in action in three first-leg $20,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) divisions Tuesday (Sept. 21) at Harrington Raceway.

In the first division, the GTY Stable’s Gaitway Gal ($2.80, Pat Berry) improved to three-for-four lifetime with a comfortable 1:57.4 score over Mistatude and Tahoe. The Delmarvalous filly was a confident winner on the front for trainer Jeff Smith.

Favorites continued to dominate in the next division, as 1-to-9 favorite Shabby Chic ($2.10, Tim Tetrick) was an easy winner over Bank The Win and Cowgirl Coffee in 1:57.2 in the second split. The Mike Hall trainee improved to three-for-threelifetime. The Badlands Hanover filly was under tight reign in the stretch for a confident score.

In the remaining DSBF division, George Teague Jr.’s Ky-Ky ($2.40, Montrell Teague) led all the way in an 2:01 win over RJ’s Angel and Hearty Dragon. It was the first career win for Ky-Ky, a daughter of Southwind Lynx who is trained by Clyde Francis.

On the undercard, Soho Burning Love A ($3.40, Victor Kirby) was a 1:52.2 winner over Sunny Dee and Western Secret in the $20,000 Mares Open. Owned by JoAnn Looney-King, Brian Carsey and Jeff Fought Racing, it was the eighth win of the year for the 7-year-old Auckland Reactor mare. Soho Burning Love A is trained by Jim King Jr.
