Shadyshark Hanover to return to Indiana

by Peter Wharton

Shadyshark Hanover p,3,1:47.4 ($765,656), North America’s fastest 3-year-old pacer in 2011, is to stand at Hoosier Standardbred Farm in Indiana for the next three years.

The son of Cam’s Card Shark stood his first Northern Hemisphere season at Victory Hill Farm, Indiana, last year where he served 129 mares.

Bought by Australian studmaster-breeder Ian Slater, Shadyshark Hanover has been standing his first ‘Down Under’ season at Morley Park Stud, Shepparton, Victoria at a fee of A$2,500. He is expected to serve about 90 mares.

Runner-up in the 2-year-old Breeders Crown and conqueror of Roll With Joe and Big Jim in the 2011 Oliver Wendell Holmes, Shadyshark Hanover will be airlifted to America later this month.

The deal was completed by leading New Zealand bloodstock agent John Curtin of JC International.
