Shark St Partners retired from stud

by Libby Myers

Clarklake, MI — Snow Ridge Farm, located in Clarklake, Mich., is sad to announce the retirement of their stallion Shark St Partners p,3,1:50.4 ($347,194).

One of Michigan’s more popular sires, he recently was discovered to have a large internal growth that was soon to be diagnosed as a very large bladder stone. Approximately the size of a small volleyball, he underwent two serious operations and two weeks recovery at the Michigan State University Veterinary Hospital in Lansing, Michigan, in August. Subsequent post surgery testing has proved Shark St Partners to be sterile.

Shark St Partners was previously owned and raced by Salerno-Trezza Partners and Steve Salerno. His career included winning multiple NJSS races, a division of the Smullin Memorial, a Hoosier Cup elimination, and multiple Open class races at Pocono. At 4 he was named Pocono Downs Horse Of The Year.

The 2008 season saw his third crop hit the tracks. His current fastest offspring is Shark Dressed Man p,3,1:53f, who is a Michigan state record holder with a 1:55.1 mark over a county fair track.

Shark St Partners has fully recovered and will spend the rest of his life at Snow Ridge Farm.
