Shepherd guests at Western Fair

from Western Fair Media Relations

London, ON — Robert Shepherd, one of Ontario’s busiest drivers, will be Greg Blanchard’s guest prior to Western Fair Raceway’s card on Wednesday, Feb. 9.

A native of Prince Edward Island, Shepherd began his career in the Maritimes before moving to Alberta where he drove on the Calgary/Edmonton circuit for a few years. He moved to Ontario in 2006 and has become one of the province’s most active drivers.

Shepherd, who was seriously injured in a horrific accident at Woodbine in March 2009 that involved several of the sport’s top drivers, recovered to enjoy one of his best years in the sulky last season with 255 wins and C$2.2 million in earnings. Lifetime his totals show 1,343 trips to the winner’s circle and well over C$10 million in purses.

The interview with Shepherd, who has eight drives on Wednesday’s afternoon program at the London, Ontario, half-miler, gets underway at 3:05 p.m. For those unable to watch the interview live, it may be viewed on the track’s You Tube channel.

Program pages and live video for the card are available as always at www.westernfair.com.
