Single Billings Trot at Lebanon on Friday

Monticello, NY — It’s just a six-horse field but the C.K.G. Billings Harness Driving Championship Series Midwest Region Trot at Lebanon Raceway on Friday (Oct. 29) features a very competitive field with the likes of Done Dreamen, DW’s Perky Joe and Celebrity Yank, all of whom have been recent Billings winners.

Former National Amateur Driver of the Year “Trader Bud” Hatfield will drive his own Done Dreamen, who won a Billings Trot in 1:58.4 at the Red Mile on October 14. They’ll start from post two.

DW’s Perky Joe was a 1:59.3 winner for “Tar Heel Tom” Williams in Billings action at the Red Mile on October 14 and Williams will be back at the controls when the veteran 6-year-old gelding starts from the four hole on Friday night.

Celebrity Yank comes into the event off a victory at the Fairfield County Fair in Lancaster, Ohio, in his last start on Oct. 14. Milton “American Winner” Smith will handle the driving chores when the veteran trotter leaves from the six hole.

The other talented Billings drivers who’ll be competing include Simeon “Hot Rod” Hunsdon, Dave “Linemaster” Ehrenberg II and Bob “I Want To Sell You A Car” Chapman.

After the race at Lebanon Raceway only contests at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs (Nov. 6) and Yonkers Raceway (Nov. 20) remain until the top point earners in the Midwest Region convene at Northfield Park for that region’s finales.

The Billings Trot at Lebanon Raceway will be the first of 15 races on their Friday night card. First post will be at 6:15 p.m.
