Single G to be the topic at Cambridge City Public Library reading program

from the Cambridge City Public Library

Cambridge City, IN — The Cambridge City Public Library is celebrating our summer reading program theme “Every Hero Has a Story” weekly with a local hero.

This Wednesday (June 17) at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m., Mary Jo Slonaker will present a program about Single G, the famous race horse from Cambridge City.

He was owned by WM B Barefoot of Cambridge City and is known as the Wonder Horse of the Century! We have a statue of him in our park and paintings and memorabilia in our History Room.

The Harness Youth Foundation donated Youth Beats magazine and Harness Heroes cards for all children who attend the program.

The library expects around 100 participants. The children will then be able to make a horse book mark and enjoy a trail mix snack.
