Sire Stakes for older horses return to Colonial

from the USTA Communications Department

Columbus, OH — Colonial Downs has reinstated its 4-year-old and up Sire Stakes race for trotters and pacers.

These races will carry a $20,000 purse and there are no nomination fees. There will be two divisions — one for pacers and one for trotters. They are for 4-year-olds and up and to be eligible a horse must be Virginia bred or foaled in Virginia.

There must be six separate betting interests in each race or else the race will not go off.

The races are scheduled for November 5.
