Toronto, ON — An elite group of 63 horses remain eligible to the 28th edition of the C$1.5 million Pepsi North America Cup, one of harness racing’s most prestigious events, set for Saturday, June 18, at Mohawk Racetrack.

Headlining this year’s talented group is Big Jim, who recorded the fastest mile in history for a freshman pacer with a 1:49.1 record. The son of Western Ideal-Bold Pink won six of ten starts and $827,204 in earnings before winning his divisional honors on both sides of the border.

Shadyshark Hanover, who finished second to Big Jim in both the Breeders Crown and Governor’s Cup, is also on the list and is one of the early favorites for the race.

The Pepsi North America Cup eliminations are set for Saturday, June 11.

The final sustaining payment will be due on May 15.
