SJ’s Photo colt tops Sweden’s Elit Sale

Carotene, a chestnut colt sired by SJ’s Photo and out of three-quarter sister to Corky (Muscles Yankee, $897,465, 1.52.4) was the co-sales topper at $60,000 at the Elit sale in Stockholm, Sweden, Friday night (May 27).

Carotene, by SJ’s Photo, was the $60,000 co-sales topper at this year’s Elit sale in Stockholm on Friday (May 27).
Carotene is the first foal out of the unraced mare Here’s Joanie (Yankee Glide).
Also Charmeur Ima, a colt by leading French sire, Ready Cash, was sold for $60,000.
The average price was down 11 percent from last year to $24,800, but 82 percent of the yearlings who were presented were sold. From the top 10 highest priced yearlings to go through the ring, two of them were by Muscle Hill.
A colt, Enrico Trot out of the Italian mare Nounou by Daguet Rapide, was sold for $57,000, a filly, Dancin in the Rain out of Alexia As, by Conway Hall was sold for $48,000 and also in the top ten was a filly by Cantab Hall, Wapsipinicon out of Lindyø’s Git Back (SJ’s Caviar) who sold for $39,000.
