Slick Tony scores in return at Harrington

Harrington, DE – George Leager’s Slick Tony ($3.20, Tony Morgan) was a 1:53 winner Monday (Aug. 17) at Harrington Raceway in the $13,500 featured conditioned pace.

The No Spin Zone stallion is one of the richest Delaware-bred horses of all time with nearly $700,000 earned in his career. Trained by his owner/breeder Leager, Slick Tony did not disappoint as the public’s choice in the eight horse field. He was immediately sent to the lead from post position two and never relented with a one length win over Trojan Banner N, who sat second throughout, and Wichita Lineman. It was the 38th career win for Slick Tony.

Allan Davis had three wins on the card, while Russell Foster, Montrell Teague and Ross Wolfenden had doubles.

Earlier on the card, Artrageous ($2.40, Art Stafford Jr.) notched her third straight win in 1:55.3 for trainer and co-owner Andrew Stafford.

Racing continues for the balance of August on a Monday/Tuesday schedule. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
