Saratoga Springs, NY — Smoke Smore (Weight Lifter) set a lifetime mark in Thursday’s (Aug. 20) feature for trotters at Saratoga Casino and Raceway.

Smoke Smore was a 1:58 winner in the Thursday feature.

The 5-year-old made his debut out of the Melissa Beckwith barn last week and scored a convincing victory at odds of 1-9. This week, Smoke Smore moved up into the $8,900 winners of two but not more than four lifetime and posted a career best effort in registering a 1:58 score on Thursday.

Mark Beckwith moved the race’s 3-2 choice to the early lead and withstood a pair of challenges before setting the new lifetime mark.

Smoke Smore is owned by Jonas Kauffman of Honey Brook, Pa.
