Snow Ridge Farm featured in story on Michigan legislative battle

Okemos, MI — An article written by the Jackson Citizen-Patriot that details Michigan horsemen’s legislative battle in Lansing was published on MLive.com Friday.

The story, which includes comments from MHHA Board President Brett Boyd and Jackson area state representatives, features Mike and Libby Myers’ breeding operation in Nepoleon (Snow Ridge Farm) in the midst of their current foaling season.

Jackson Citizen-Patriot journalists recently visited the Myers’ farm at their invitation and, as luck would have it, a new filly was foaled by Ustealmysunshine the very morning they arrived. The article talks about the fight we have on our hands with HB5546 and SB1075 and mentions the current positions of Reps. Mike Shirkey and Earl Poleski on the legislation.

The Myers have been working tirelessly, on top of their jobs and a busy foaling season, to help spread the word about racing’s struggle to survive. Representative Poleski is planning a visit to Snow Ridge in the near future and will get to see first hand what racing means to Michigan’s agricultural economy.
