Betting in Sweden has declined within the last two years and for 2014 prize money was lowered in the popular V75 races, which are raced every Saturday afternoon.

The main track Solvalla has to save money as well and now Solvalla, the home of the world famous Elitlopp, has announced that the winner of the Elitlopp final in 2014 will get $75,000 less than last year.

On the last Sunday in May, when the Elitlopp will take place, the purse for the winner will be around $400,000 instead of $475,000.

The winner is not the only one who will be hurt; the total prize money in the final in the Elitlopp will be lowered by a total of $125,000.

Overall, the Elitlopp weekend will have $250,000 less in purses.
