Something Reel digs in late to preserve Meadows feature win

Washington, PA –  Something Reel followed live cover before vaulting into the lead, then dug in gamely to preserve her win in Wednesday’s (July 21) feature at The Meadows, a $10,300 Filly & Mare Conditioned Pace.

Once Dave Palone tipped Something Reel off the cover of Hurrikane Lori Ann, she easily blew by but still had to deal with the threat on her bumper, Sin City Lori. The 5-year-old daughter of Westwardho Hanover-I’m A Realist kept to her task and edged Sin City Lori by a neck in 1:53, with the rallying Ellasen third.

Brandon Presto trains Something Reel, who extended her career earnings to $149,185, for Larry Parlin.

Mike Wilder collected three wins on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday (July 22) first post 12:45 p.m.
