Yonkers, NY — The Empire State’s leading 3-year-old fillies not named See You At Peelers invade Yonkers Raceway Thursday night (July 21) for the $232,330 New York Sire Stakes Mount Vernon Pace.

Five divisions, including two off the wagering card (6 and 6:15 p.m., respectively), comprise the event.

The evening’s third ($46,826) division (fourth race on the betting card) looms the most competitive, led by the troika of Miss Annie J (Tim Tetrick, post one), Tea Party Princess (Brian Sears, post four) and New Album (George Brennan, post five).

Miss Annie J, a daughter of Bettor’s Delight owned by Ken Jacobs and trained by Linda Toscano, enters after a pair of solid wins at Vernon (sire stakes) and Tioga (Tompkins-Geers), the latter in a life-best 1:53.

Tea Party Princess, owned by Brad Gray and trained by Ron Burke, has also won her last couple of starts. The Art Major miss has hit the board in eight of her nines tries this season.

Continuing the theme of eight board finishes in nine races, New Album — second to Tea Party Princess when the two met at Vernon — owns a 1:52 personal best in an elim for the Empire Breeders Classic at Tioga in late May. The daughter of Western Terror is co-owned by (trainer) Mark Kesmodel, Jeffrey Bamond and Baron Racing.

Also on display Thursday night is Lismore winner JK Owhatanite, who drew outside her six rivals in the ($46,826) fifth division (seventh race). The homebred (3 Brothers Stable) Bettor’s Delight ma’am, trained by Toscano, saw her five-race winning streak end at Vernon earlier this month.

Some Girls Do, a daughter of American Ideal who has already won 11 of her 16 starts and more than $218,000 this season, will also compete. She landed post position No. 5 in the second ($45,926) of those two non-bettors.

On the subject of See You At Peelers, she and her 20-for-20 resume are scheduled to return here a week from Thursday (July 28) for this division’s next sire stakes go-round in the Rye Pace.
