Soto wins Opening Day Harrington feature

Harrington, DE — Harrington Raceway’s 72nd year of live racing commenced Monday (April 9) with a 13-race program. Cooler than usual temperatures greeted a solid crowd of racing fans.
In the $16,000 Open Pace feature, Ken Wood, Bill Ditmar and Steve Iaquinta’s Soto ($6.80) returned a winner in 1:52.4 over Im Supersonic A and Forty Five Red.
The Rock N Roll Heaven stallion was put in play immediately from post six with an aggressive steer by Art Stafford Jr. and never relented in his second win of the year for trainer Eric Ell.
Reigning leading Harrington driving champ Victor Kirby returned in style with three wins in the first six races.
Tony Morgan won one of four on the card when Somebeach Baron ($3.40) registered his fourth straight win for trainer/owner Josh Green.
