It was a great party Sunday afternoon (May 26) as in previous years at Solvalla, but every year it tends to be fewer and fewer fans taking the trip to Europe’s biggest mile race, Elitloppet at Solvalla, Stockholm, Sweden.

This year 17,029 fans were at Solvalla Sunday afternoon, down from 19,039 last year. The numbers for the three-day meeting were 34,461 fans compared to 37,844 last year. That’s a decline of nine percent.

Also, the betting was hurt, but not so much, a minus of 1.2 percent. Some 370 million SEK (or $34.8 million) was bet on the races at Solvalla on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
