East Rutherford, NJ — On Saturday (July 7) live harness racing at The Meadowlands will commence with a special 6:35 p.m. post time.

Saturday is Fan Appreciation Night with $1 hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn and soda and $2 draft beer from 6:30–11p.m.

It is also the first annual Wiener Dog Derby. The qualifying wiener heats take place in between the live horse racing action with the Wiener Dog Derby final taking place on the track at 10:15 p.m. Admission and parking are free. Following live harness racing, an enthralling fireworks display will take place to honor Independence Day. The best place to view the fireworks will be atop Victory Terrace Rooftop Bar. With great views of the racing action, city skyline and fireworks, guests are in for an amazing show that will begin 10 minutes after the last race at approximately 11:10 p.m. Victory Terrace has a full service bar and a rooftop grill.

There are four other special post times scheduled for the Championship Meet. Next Saturday (July 14) is the night of the Crawford Farms Meadowlands Pace and features a 6:35 p.m. post. The following weekend July 20 and 21, post time is 8 p.m. A post time of 12 noon is scheduled for Hambletonian Day on Saturday (Aug. 4).

The Meadowlands remains at its usual 7:15 p.m. post on July 13, July 27, July 28 and Aug. 3.
