Special Wednesday matinee at Miami Valley

Lebanon, OH — Miami Valley Raceway, following two weather related cancelations, will be presenting a special 10-race program Wednesday (Feb. 17) beginning at 2:05 p.m.

The card will feature carryover late-closing events from the Monday and Tuesday disposed programs as well as a $22,500 Open Trot.

“The severe winter storm that was forecast by all national, regional and local weather services did not hit the Miami Valley nearly as hard as predicted,” said Race Secretary Gregg Keidel. “We probably could have and should have raced. Now we can only hope our rapidly growing group of patrons (record handles near $800,000 on the last two cards) will rejoin us for today’s previously unscheduled day of races.”

The forecast is for 19 to 23 degree temperatures, with sunny skies and minimal winds, during the racing hours.

The regular Wednesday qualifying races will also be contested Wednesday, but after the 10-race betting program is completed at approximately 5:15 p.m.

Another make-up program will also be announced soon.
