SPHO-NJ to host National Show and fundraising

from the SPHO-NJ

The SPHO-NJ would like to remind exhibitors and spectators that this weekend, Aug. 12 and 13, is the 23rd annual National Standardbred Horse Show.

More than 60 horses have already entered the show with horses from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, Ohio, Kentucky and Delaware to name a few.

New for this year is the Pacing for the Cure In Hand Trail Class in which all entry fees benefit Pacing For The Cure and their fight against Multiple Sclerosis.

New this week the SPHO-NJ will hold a raffle auction, as well as a silent auction, in the front of Barn A for the weekend to benefit the Bounds Family Racing Stable who lost five horses and all their equipment in a barn fire. In the silent auction will be a new Walsh Harness donated by Big Dee’s and the SPHO-NJ. The SPHO-NJ and Big Dee’s will also be sending the Bounds a new Walsh Harness.

We hope to see everyone this weekend to support the Standardbred’s versatility in their second career, as well as these two fundraisers we are hosting. If you have an item for the silent auction or a donation you would like to get to either cause please contact Suzanne D’Ambrose at miamisuzanne698@aol.com.
