Springfield hosts ‘Crazy Good’ author

Freehold, NJ — Charles Leerhsen, author of Crazy Good: The True Story of Dan Patch, The Most Famous Horse in America, will sign copies of his book about the most famous Illinois-bred ever on Saturday, August 9, at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield, Illinois.

Dan Patch is a son of the stallion Joe Patchen, who stood near Kankakee, in Chebanse, Illinois, Iroquois County at a farm called Horse Home in May of 1895, when Dan Patch was conceived.

Leerhsen will sign inside the main entrance of the grandstand from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. (CDT). Proceeds will benefit equine education youth programs.
