SRF masterpiece paintings to sell at Harrisburg Sale

from the Standardbred Retirement Foundation

Hamilton, NJ — Rocknroll Hanover took to the paint with an all American theme when he touched the canvas for his first and only original piece of artwork. A fundraiser for the Standardbred Retirement Foundation, this fascinating piece known as the “Rock N Rembrandt” will be displayed at the Harrisburg Sale and auctioned just like his progeny. The theme used truly exciting colors with silver, red, white, blue, and a touch of gold and the painting stands about three and a half feet tall.

Both speed and artistic talent came from great bloodlines so Rich N Elegant, his dam, also produced her own unique piece, “Rich N Elegant Renoir.”

“It was a great opportunity to bring out the feminine side of racing with this great dam. After all she is responsible for so many world class horses,” explained Paula Campbell, President of the SRF.

Just like her name this one and only original is truly elegant with rich golds, and stunning fuchsias. Rocknroll Hanover and his mom used their muzzle, tail, and hooves to paint. A bit of the stallion’s profile shows as paint was gently stroked on his face which touched the canvas.

Last year Muscles Yankee, the first in this series of paintings, created much buzz when his “Muscles Michelangelo” brought a five figure winning bid. A new and much needed fundraiser for SRF, the “Harness Horse Masterpiece Collection” of Pacing Picassos and Trotting Toulouses will have one original of each of the many stallions and a few famous mares over a period of time.

The first painting greets all who enter Perretti Farms as it hangs among the photographs of the most prominent stallions Bill Perretti stands.

“It is a fabulous conversation piece,” Paula Campbell added.

Support is greatly appreciated from the Standardbred Horse Sales Company who will auction the paintings Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 9, at the horse sale in Harrisburg, Pa. Proceeds will benefit SRF, a 501(c) 3 non-profit, an award winning model program for horse adoption and retirement since 1989. SRF has the huge task of caring for 175-plus Standardbreds, of which 98 are companion only, and is depending on this fundraiser to help its constant need for financial support to feed and care for them.
