Millstone Township, NJ — The Standardbred Retirement Foundation’s 12 days of giving campaign is a great way to help a horse in need during the holidays.

Whether it is your gift to a horse in need, or a gift to someone who loves horses and would be delighted to receive this caring gesture as their holiday gift, there are so many ways to help with a tax-deductible gift.

Here is SRF’s holiday wish list for the 12 days of giving to start on Friday (Dec. 11) to benefit the 208 trotters and pacers under SRF’s full care:

• Fill the hayloft for a month for the fillies and mares at the NJ location — $870
• Hoof trimming for one of the 208 fillies, mares or geldings — $35
• Senior feed for a month for one of the 93 oldies but goodies — $100 each
• Retire one to your farm — priceless
• A visit from the horse dentist for one to 12 horses — $50 each
• Therapeutic shoes for one in need — $250
• Transportation and quarantine for a horse from the kill pen to safety — $500
• Rehabilitate one from the kill pen until spring — $1,200
• Breakaway safety halters — $22 each for one to 35 horses
• Fill the hayloft for one month for the geldings that happily guard the fillies and mares — $1,200
• Become SRF’s special sponsor for the Elitlopp fundraising trip in May — $4,000
• Transport one to Kentucky for saddle training, or well-deserved retirement — $300.

The generosity of donors is so appreciated, and when a wish is granted as a holiday gift to a friend or relative, SRF will package a special thank you to you and your recipient.
