STA awards $30,000 in grants

Laurelville, OH — The Standardbred Transition Alliance (STA) announced today that initial grants totaling $30,000 have been distributed to STA Aftercare Organizations that have successfully achieved accreditation in 2021.

The STA Spring Grant, given in conjunction with the offer of accreditation, rewards organizations for successfully meeting, or exceeding, all application criteria and their adherence to Best Practices. STA Accredited Organizations are also eligible for additional grant opportunities as they are made available throughout the year.

“It is exciting to embark on the second full year of issuing grants to organizations that have met the bar of accreditation. The STA appreciates the trust from the racing industry and aftercare organizations to responsibly steward these resources toward the outstanding work of so many who are working hard for our horses,” said STA President David Reid.

The STA is pleased to welcome the newest addition, Futures For Standardbreds, based in Southern Maine, to the ranks of accredited organizations. The full list can be found here.

The next application window for STA accreditation will open on July 1.
