Washington, PA — Stakes action at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino kicks into high gear this week, with Pennsylvania stakes highlighting six consecutive cards beginning Tuesday, July 13.

Wednesday’s (July 14) program is particularly compelling, offering 11 stakes divisions featuring 2- and 3-year-old pacing fillies, a number of them already in the limelight.

The $298,316 Sand Tart, a PA Sire Stake for freshman fillies, will be contested over six divisions. Among the favorites will be Winbak Farm’s Hasty Pulse, who captured her career debut July 7 in a W.N. Reynolds Memorial division at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. Shuffled to third at the three-quarters, Hasty Pulse blazed home in :27.4 to score in a sparkling 1:53.4. Ron Burke trains the daughter of Quik Pulse Mindale-Hasty Dewar.

Hasty Pulse drew post three in the 10th race, where she’ll encounter another Reynolds winner, Mothermayi Hanover, a daughter of Allamerican Native-Mother Earth who scored wire-to-wire in 1:54.3 for trainer Luis Porfilio and owners Luis Alberto and Angela Porfilio.

Also attracting attention in the Sand Tart will be Show And Tell, who took her Reynolds division with a rugged first-over move after relinquishing the early lead. The daughter of Village Jolt-Show Off triumphed in 1:55.4 for trainer Jim Campbell and owner Fashion Farms. Show And Tell leaves from post four in the fifth race.

The stakes record for the Sand Tart, 1:53.2, was established by Ginger And Fred in 2008. In addition to the Sand Tart, the card includes five $20,000 splits of a Pennsylvania Stallion Series stake for sophomore filly pacers. First post is 6:55 p.m.
