Dover, DE — After a Holiday break from racing on Thanksgiving and Friday, live racing resumes at Dover Downs this weekend with Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund 2-year-old second leg preliminaries and the major event on Sunday, the $259,486 Matron 3-year-old colt pace final.

On Saturday, the second and final leg of the $20,000 DSBF 2-year-old prelims for filly pacers will be held. Sunday, the DSBF trotting colts race. The top eight in points in each of the divisions return the following weekend for $100,000 finals.

Though a winner in last week’s Matron eliminations, Vintage Master was not dropped in for this week’s $259,486 final. Last Sunday, Vintage Master and 39-1 shot Nob Hill High won $39,082 elims. Nob Hill High, Clear Vision, Schoolkids and Mr Wiggles from the first elim and Straight Shooting, Ideal Race, Hypnotic Blue Chip and Arctic Warrior from the second, are the eight colts in the final.

Matron finalist Nob Hill High is trained by Bruce Saunders, a University of Delaware grad, who at one time was the EDA director for the State of Delaware.

Bulletproof Enterprises will start a three colt entry in the final: Schoolkids, Straight Shooting and Ideal Race.
