Stakes race to honor Craig Lipka
December 15, 2016,from Deo Volente Farms
Flemington, NJ — Last week it was reported that Craig Lipka, a longtime prominent horseman and founding partner of Deo Volente Farms, passed away at the age of 56.
The New Meadowlands Racetrack LLC and Deo Volente Farms announced today the dedication of a stakes race in Craig’s honor during the 2017 racing season. The race will be for 3-year-old filly pacers. This will be a fitting tribute to Craig and for his lifelong contributions to advance harness racing in North America.
Upon the announcement of his passing, it was initially requested that contributions be made to Craig’s children for their educations. However, it is now requested that contributions instead be made in Craig’s memory to Make-A-Wish New Jersey at http://nj.wish.org/.
