Stall applications for Running Aces available

from Running Aces Harness Park

Columbus, MN — Stall applications for the third season at Running Aces Harness Park in Minnesota are now available on the track’s Web site: www.runningacesharness.com.

The state-of-the-art five-eighths-mile facility, located 20 miles north of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, will feature a new racing schedule and significantly higher purses when the 51-night meet opens on June 1.

Live racing will be presented on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday nights at 7:00 p.m. and late Sunday afternoons with a 5:00 p.m. post.

Purse projections call for a total dispursement of approximately $2 million in 2010, with about ten percent earmarked for supplements to state-bred restricted races. The success of the 50-table year-round poker and casino games card room at Running Aces has enabled the purses to more than double from inaugural season levels. The average purse in 2010 could reach $5,000.

Stall applications must be returned by April 24 for consideration. Stalls will be allotted on May 3 and the barn area will open on May 10.

“I expect far more requests than we have available stalls,” predicts Director of Racing Gregg Keidel. “Preference will be given to trainers who have supported our racing program in the past, followed by new applicants with very high percentages of race-ready qualified horses.”
