Stallion owners can release mating certificates online

by Jessica Schroeder, USTA Outreach & Membership Enrichment Coordinator

Columbus, OH — As foaling season gets in full swing, the USTA would like to remind stallion owners that they can now release mating certificates online.

USTA members can log-in or sign up for an Online Services account at MyAccount.ustrotting.com. From there, select List of Mares Bred in the “My Horses” section. Then choose the stallion you would like to release the mating certificate for.

Owners and lessees of record at the time of mating can view their list of stallions by breeding year. Only the corresponding officer of a stable or syndicate and authorized agents are able to release mating certificates; members can view which mating certificates have been released.

Mare owners can view whether their mating certificate has been released by the stallion owner, either electronically or by mail, also from their USTA Online Services account.

After logging in to MyAccount, owners should select Broodmares in the “My Horses” section. From there, owners can sort by breeding year the mares they would like to view. Live foal/no foal reporting, and foal registration, can be done from the same screen.

By working towards being a paperless office, there is now no need to request, wait for and mail the green mating certificates to the USTA offices.

Any questions about electronic mating certificates or online foal registration should be directed to Member Services at 877.800.8782 or memberservices@ustrotting.com.
