Augie’s is a 17-year-old retired Standardbred, who really enjoys his one day in the spotlight each year. He has four years of parade experience. Bold Decision is an 11-year-old currently racing at Northfield Park, but took a day off training to participate in the parade; this is his second year as a representative.

Thousands of people lined the 1.25 mile parade route through the beautiful, tree-lined city. One local radio station reported that the Northville parade is the largest in the state.

The many children in attendance were especially thrilled to see these two geldings all decked out in their red, white, and blue Fourth of July attire. A group of horsemen also escorted the two horses.

Racing resumes at Northville Downs on Sept. 13.
