State lawmakers to present NJSS trophies

Trenton, NJ — Nine New Jersey state legislators will be at The Meadowlands Racetrack on Friday, June 20, to present trophies to the winners of the $700,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes “Night of Champions,” the highest total purses offered on one race program in NJSS history.

There will be four $175,000 Championship Finals, completing the 2008 Meadowlands NJSS series for 3-year-old New Jersey-sired pacers and trotters.

Scheduled to make presentations in the winner’s circle are State Senators Loretta Weinberg of Teaneck and Robert Gordon of Fair Lawn, Assemblywomen Valerie Vainieri Huttle of Englewood and Joan Voss of Fort Lee, and Assemblymen Fred Scalera of Nutley, Gordon Johnson of Englewood, Ronald Dancer of Plumsted, Joseph Malone of Bordentown and Declan O’Scanlon of Red Bank.
