Campbellville, ON — The Mark Steacy barn has been on a roll this season at Mohawk Racetrack and Tuesday evening (Aug. 23) they celebrated a special milestone.
The 3-year-old pacing filly Stylish Beachwhere got back to her winning ways with a 1:52.3 front-end score for Steacy. The daughter of Somebeachsomewhere was winless in her last two starts heading into Tuesday’s contest after winning three in a row to begin her career.
Tuesday’s victory was the first for Steacy on the WEG circuit since surpassing $20 million in career earnings last Saturday night at Pocono with Nocturnal Bluechip in a consolation of the Battle of the Brandywine.
Steacy was presented with a sign recognizing his accomplishment in the winner’s circle following Stylish Beachwhere’s victory.
Steacy has enjoyed plenty of success over the course of his career, most notably with superstars Majestic Son ($1.75 million–1:52.2s) and Hana Hanover ($1.2 million–1:48.4). His trainees have visited the winner’s circle 1,472 times during his career.
This season, Steacy sits second in the Mohawk meet trainer standings with 33 victories. Overall, his barn has 49 wins this season with the most recent victory from Stylish Beachwhere pushing the stable over C$1 million in seasonal earnings.
