Pompano Beach, Florida – January 6, 2006 – For the second straight week Sunduel A ($5.00) proved to at her best, winning the 7th race $9,000 Open Mares Pace at Pompano Park Friday.

Driven by Bruce Ranger, Sunduel A won by one and one-half lengths in 1:55 over Hyde Park Hussie N (Mickey McNichol) and Tasma Walton A (Wally Hennessey).

The 7th race started off with Sunduel A grabbing the early lead with Hyde Park Hussie N in the pocket-seat but even before the opening quarter mile in :28, driver George Napolitano, Jr. had Pleasing Package A on the move first-over and then in command after the quarter mile mark.

They led the field to the half mile in :58 and to the three-quarters in 1:26.1 as Sugar Glider (Daryl Bier) tried to come first over but could not catch up to the leaders. Ranger then made his move with Sunduel A on the final turn and they had little trouble passing by a fading Pleasing Package A and coasting to the wire an easy winner.

An eight-year-old Australian-bred mare by Fake Left, Sunduel A is trained by Jake Huff and is owned by the Gingold, Huff, Marrone and Kurzrok Stables of FL & NY.

Rickards Ed goes for his third straight win Saturday in the 7th race Open Handicap Pace. Starting from post seven, Rickards Ed closed out the 2005 season with his 15th win of the year, tying Happy Riggs as the winningest horses at Pompano Park for the year. He will be driven by John Kakaley and are the 7/2 third choice in the race.
