Surreal Ideal overcomes post eight, wins Meadows feature

Washington, PA — Surreal Ideal looped the field early from post eight and went on to complete the 9-1 upset in Saturday’s (August 20) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $14,000 Conditioned Pace.

It took more than the opening quarter for Surreal Ideal (Ridge Warren) to reach the point, but once there, he held off the Lightning Lane challenge of Carolina Beach (Aaron Merriman) for Ridge Warren, downing him by a length in a sharp 1:50. The first-over Torrin Hanover (Hunter Myers) finished third.

Vernon Beachy trains the 4-year-old So Surreal-Jkmusicofthenite gelding, who vaulted over $100,000 in career earnings, and owns with Gitup Racing and Elise Kilmer.

Dan Charlino, Dave Palone and Warren joined trainers Ron Burke and Brandon Presto with doubles on the 11-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday when the program features a $3,297.38 carryover in the Jackpot Pick 5 (race 4). First post is 12:45 p.m.
