Sweden’s leading driver Bjorn Goop, 39, posted victory number 6,000 on Tuesday (Dec. 15) at Axevalla, driving the 3-year-old filly Celebreightr.

Bjorn Goop posted victory number 6,000 on Tuesday at Axevalla, driving the 3-year-old filly Celebreightr.

Goop won his first race 21 years ago as an amateur driver at Axevalla, but turned professional and has established himself as one of Europe’s top drivers. He has won the Swedish driver championship 11 times in a row and is on his way to number 12.

Goop runs a big training stable in Sweden, but has also a stable at Grosbois in France.

He talks fluent French and English.

His father, Olle Goop, was for many years the leading driver in Sweden and has won more than 6,600 races.
