Sweet Lou gains ground on Sebastian K

Freehold, NJ — Sweet Lou stretched his win streak to 10 races by capturing his elimination for Saturday’s Canadian Pacing Derby, and gained ground on No. 1-ranked Sebastian K in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll.
A 5-year-old male pacer, Sweet Lou increased his first-place votes by one, to a total of seven, and pulled within 21 points of Sebastian K. Sweet Lou trailed by 30 points in last week’s rankings.
Sebastian K’s 28 first-place votes equal his lowest total of the year. The 8-year-old male trotter enjoyed three weeks in July in which he received all 35 first-place votes.
The only other horse in the Top 10 to see action last week was Mission Brief, who went off stride in her division of the Kindergarten Classic. She dropped a spot to No. 10 in this week’s poll.
