Tamar brushes wide, wins Meadows feature

Washington, PA — Tamar followed live cover down the backside, then brushed wide through the lane to capture Tuesday’s (Sept. 29) feature at The Meadows, a $10,400 conditioned trot for fillies and mares.

Tamar rolled off cover and claimed victory in Tuesday’s trotting feature at The Meadows. Chris Gooden photo.

Tamar was sixth when Jim Pantaleano edged her out behind Broadway Kabam, who continued to gain ground despite a parked-out trip. When the 5-year-old daughter of Cash Hall and High Gear Sahbra shed cover, she outkicked Kellie’s MVP — who rallied up he Lightning Lane — and defeated her by a length in 1:54.4. Broadway Kabam saved show.

Trainer Carl Cocciolone co-owns Tamar, who lifted her career bankroll to $139,265, with Mark Sosovicka.

Tony Hall piloted three winners on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Wednesday (Sept. 30), when the 13-race program features a $41,861.95 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 p.m.
