Tamarind sails to front-end victory in Meadows $15,000 trot

Washington, PA — Tamarind zipped to the frontfrom post seven and never had an anxious moment as he rolled to victory inWednesday’s (Oct. 18) $15,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life Handicap Trot.

Tamarind never had an anxious moment as he rolled to victory in Wednesday’s Handicap Trot at The Meadows.

Tamarind needed to trot a swift 27.4 to reachthe early lead, but when Aaron Merriman gave him a 29.4 second-quarterbreather, he was home free, prevailing in 1:55.1. Maximum Credit shot theLightning Lane for second, 1-3/4 lengths back, while the first-over MonteCristo Spur finished third.

Bill Bercury trains and owns Tamarind, a9-year-old son of Angus Hall-Spicegirl Kosmos who won for the 61st timein his career and extended his lifetime bankroll to $926,884.

Dave Palone piloted four winners on the 12-racecard, including three for trainer Ron Burke.
