Teague dominates Rosecroft qualifiers

Ft. Washington, MD — Trainer George Teague, Jr. took several qualifying divisions for 2- and 3-year-old contenders at Rosecroft Raceway on Wednesday morning, August 1.

The first race, a trot, brought Sincerely American to the front of the field by a neck in 2:03. The 2-year-old Allamerican Native filly, co-owned by Teague Inc., Rodney Mitchell Inc. and Kenneth Mitchell, all of Delaware, was driven by Teague through easy fractions of :31.3, 1:03.3 and 1:32.4.

Order By Lincoln trotted to a 2:03.2 win in the second race with driver Wayne Long in the bike. The 2-year-old Conway Hall colt, co-owned by Teague Inc. and Rodney Mitchell Inc., led the field through quarters of :31.2, 1:03.4 and 1:33.3 to win by over eight lengths with a :29.4 last quarter.

Winning by more than nine lengths, Gel Mibson trotted to victory in 2:00 with a :28.4 last quarter. Driven by Teague, the 3-year-old Enjoy Lavec colt gained ground through fractions of :30.3, 1:02 and 1:31.1.

Racing for trainer Manley Brown, Jr., Fierce lived up to his name in a pace for 2-year-olds. The son of Badlands Hanover, driven by John Wagner for owner J. Belle Bauman, won by 4-1/2 lengths in 1:58.4 after pacing wire-to-wire.

Live harness racing returns to Rosecroft this coming Saturday at 7:20 p.m.
